Three years ago I was having serious pain, and this past year I could hardly walk because of the pain. I couldn’t even find a comfortable position to sleep in. I was delaying the surgery because of all the negatives I had heard. But after my surgery, I was pleasantly surprised since I hardly had any pain. I was also very appreciative of the service that Dr. Tallerico and his staff gave me. I appreciated Dr. Tallerico stopping by each day to answer any questions or see if I needed anything. His bedside manner is great.
It’s been 3 months since my surgery and I’ve made great progress. I was walking up and down the stairs 6 weeks after the surgery. I also feel much stronger and very stable. All pain left about a month after surgery. I have told several people they don’t need to fear total knee replacement if they have Dr. Tallerico perform the surgery. In April 2011, at age 69, I decided that I had dealt with my severe bilateral knee pain for as long as I could. All of my activities were limited. A friend referred me to Dr. Tallerico so I scheduled an appointment. My x-rays showed the cartilage was absent in both knees and the jointswere severely worn. We discussed options for repair and I selected an option that provided me the longest result. Dr. Tallerico was beginning a new procedure using a product called "My Knee." The surgery and recovery went exceptionally well. I was released from the hospital on the fifth day post surgery and began physical therapy. Dr. Tallerico was pleasantly surprised when I walked into his office 2 weeks after surgery without assistance. In September, (5 weeks after surgery) I hiked and hunted deer and elk without limitation in my knees. I attribute my incredible success to the experience, skill, and expertise of Dr. Tallerico. He has a sign in his office that reads, "Enter as a patient and leaves as a friend." That is truly my experience with Dr. Tallerico and his staff. I highly recommend him!
